This Acceptable Use Policy sets out the rules for using ClinAssess responsibly. It expands on Section 5 of our Terms and Conditions and applies to all Users, including students, lecturers, examiners, HODs, and administrators.
1. Purpose
ClinAssess exists to support fair, secure, and accurate clinical assessment workflows. This policy protects the integrity of that process for every Institution and User on the Platform.
2. Permitted Use
You may use ClinAssess to:
- Submit clinical histories, case logs, and assessments as instructed by your Institution.
- View records and dashboards you are authorized to access.
- Complete assessments and reviews assigned to your role.
- Communicate with your Institution through Platform features designed for that purpose.
3. Prohibited Conduct
You must not:
- Share your account credentials with anyone else, or use another person's account.
- Attempt to access records, submissions, or dashboards you are not authorized to view.
- Attempt to bypass, disable, or interfere with authentication, access controls, or security features.
- Upload malware, scripts, or any content designed to disrupt the Platform.
- Use bots, scrapers, or automated tools to interact with the Platform without authorization.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the Platform's source code or algorithms.
- Upload unlawful, offensive, or infringing content.
4. Integrity of Originality Checks
ClinAssess relies on automated originality detection — combining OCR-extracted text, perceptual hashing, and similarity comparison — to help Institutions safeguard academic integrity. You must not:
- Alter, obscure, or manipulate a submission's content or formatting with the intent of evading similarity detection.
- Submit another person's work as your own.
- Attempt to probe, reverse engineer, or determine the internal thresholds of the similarity-detection system.
Attempts to circumvent originality checks will be treated as a serious violation and may be referred to your Institution for disciplinary action.
5. Account Security Responsibilities
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential, using a strong password, and reporting any suspected unauthorized access to your account promptly to your Institution's administrator or ClinAssess support.
6. Reporting Violations
If you become aware of a violation of this policy — including suspected account sharing, unauthorized access, or attempts to bypass originality checks — please report it to your Institution's administrator or to ClinAssess support so it can be reviewed.
7. Enforcement
Violations of this Acceptable Use Policy may result in a warning, suspension, or termination of your account, and may be referred to your Institution for further academic or disciplinary action, in accordance with Section 17 of our Terms and Conditions.
